Did you know you can turn vaping into something magickal? In this blog post you will find some of the ways I found I can use my vape in my practice.
First and foremost, I want to put a disclaimer here that I am by no means promoting smoking/vaping, nor do I believe anyone should pick up the habit simply for the sake of magick. What makes my life so magickal is living my life with intention in every way possible. So with that being said, being that I already vape, I decided to look for ways that I can make it more magickal and intentional.
Choosing A Flavor
The main thing that makes your magick work is intention. If you do everything with intention, you are aligning yourself to the life you are creating. Choosing your spell ingredients with intention is no different than choosing your vape flavor.
Perhaps you work with Freya, the Norse goddess of love and war. She is associated with strawberries, so a strawberry flavored vape would be perfect for working with her for love workings or matters of the heart.
My personal vape is flavored “Colombian Tobacco.” This was chosen with intention for two reasons. First, my grandparents and ancestors are from Colombia, so this is a homage to my ancestral roots. Second, tobacco is a well known offering for not just your ancestors but several deities as well. For me, using my Colombian Tobacco vape is a modern day magick hack to using actual tobacco.
Enchanting Your Vape
Okay, so you’ve chosen your flavor with intention. Now what? It’s time to enchant it with your intentions. There’s a few ways you can do this.
You can set it on your altar and pray (or recite an incantation) over it. You can create a crystal grid with stones matching your intention and set it in the middle. Similarly, you can create a custom sigil and place your vape on top of it. Then there’s my go-to chaotic way - rubbing it in my hands as I think about, visualize and sometimes chant my intentions.
Remember there is no right or wrong way to do this, adapt this to your practice as you see fit. Once your vape is enchanted and loaded up with your energy, it’s ready to be used as a magickal tool.
Using A Vape As An Offering
Modern problems require modern solutions. If you can’t get your hands on tobacco for an offering, a new or even used/dead vape can be set on your altar as an offering. I personally have one on almost every altar. Once a vape is losing flavor and about to die, I will sometimes set it on an altar as an offering and to amplify my protections.
Cleansing With Your Vape
The same way you can use incense and herbs to smoke cleanse yourself and other objects, you can enchant your vape to do that same.
You can set an intention with your vape to cleanse and remove negative energies and offer a shield and smokescreen of protection. Some quick examples:
Objects - Blow the smoke all over the object you wish to cleanse.
Mirrors - Close portals and lock your mirrors by blowing the smoke from side to side starting from the top of the mirror and working your way down.
Yourself - Cup your hands in front of your face and blow the smoke into them, then bring your hands close to your face and over your head/crown chakra to shield yourself with a smokescreen and protect your identity during ritual workings.
Using Your Vape For Protection
After enchanting your vape for protection, whenever you hit it, know that you are breathing more life into your intention and fortifying your protection. I find there are times I barely hit it at all, and times where I hit it nonstop. This is normal, trust your intuition.
