What is the Chaos Deck and how did it come to be?

This is a huge, mismatched tarot deck that I originally backed on Kickstarter (check out The Alleyman Tarot by Publishing Goblin.) It contains so many different versions of traditional and nontraditional tarot cards, some being made for the deck itself.

I began customizing it by decorating cards and now adding cards of my own. Some playing cards, some flashcards, whatever the deck decided it needed. Some cards come and go, some have stayed, some are yet to be added. Some I swear I have never even seen before. I have been decorating this already incredibly unique deck with stickers of all kinds from other readers, makers and magickal creatures that I have met along the way. 

When I started vending at Lunar Faire, I focused solely on the Spell Jar Bar, so when I finally decided to start offering readings to the public, I wasn't quite sure how I would do it. I brought a few different decks and figured I'd let the faire decide. I gave the first people the option between my traditional deck or my "nontraditional" deck as I called it, and each time the client chose chaos without hesitation. After the 2nd or 3rd person, I realized it made perfect sense to use my most chaotic deck in the place where we "Embrace the Chaos."

What makes this reading chaotic is that there are no rules. I use the card's traditional meanings along with the imagery and symbolism that can get overlooked. I also do not have a set spread that I use, instead I allow the flow of the night to decide how the readings go. Then, not only is each individual card so vastly different in appearance and style, but with the added stickers that have been placed both randomly and with intent, you might just unlock even deeper rooted messages. Even though chaotic, this deck delivers scarily detailed messages that you need to hear, and you will always find me at the perfect time.**
